In the many forms of hypnosis, the most effective is the Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). This is due to the way the treatment is performed. In NLP, the suggestions are not provided to our subconscious. Instead, the thought patterns are provided in the areas which are causing us concern in this technique. The NLP is based on three components. The tree components are the NLP anchoring, NLP flash and NLP reframe. The NLP anchoring means the way of anchoring the desired state such as the feeling of self-esteem in our body. For example, recalling and visualizing a time when we are admired or rewarded for a perfect job. The NLP has an advantage on us such as it can help us to regularly raise our sense of self-esteem or we can self-motivate ourselves. The mode of treatment in the NLP is the use of stimulus to trigger the response, memory, behavior or feeling desired. There is an establishment of the anchor by using a unique stimulus. The things that are familiar and general are not to be used during this type of treatment. For example, having a handshake is very common occurrence hence it would not be suitable but one can use pulling of an earlobe as a stimulus as this is not common.

We use the stimulus in our everyday activities. For instance, the activities that may lead to us using the stimulus would be listening to the old music that will remind us singing such songs in our early age or the certain traffic lights that will initiate a certain response when driving. In the NLP anchorage, we tend to attach a particular feeling, happening or event to a particular stimulus and can recreate that situation at any time by using the stimulus.

The NLP flash is different from the NLP anchoring. The NLP means that a hypnotist can train a body to abstain from using the cigarettes and coffee. In this form, it is an effective method that can be used to train the body of a person who wants to quit smoking or lose weight. In NLP flash technique, the thoughts are changed or flipped in the unconscious mind. The NLP flash manipulates the thoughts and the experiences that were once used to create stress or a particular action to now create a relaxation or a particular action. An individual who is used to smoking while talking on the phone will always take a cigarette whenever the phone rings hence this technique can help such a person to substitute a cigarette with another response.

For a person with a negative belief, behavior, and event, the NLP reframe can be used to help such a person to replace this with the positive ones. The events and situations on their own have no meaning but we tend to apply o9ur own beliefs and values to provide meaning. We can reframe the way we view the events so that we can change the response and the behavior which makes for a different outcome.
